ABOUT US

20221015_170828~3.jpg

In 1993, Libbi made her way to the Shenandoah Valley to attend JMU. The mountains drew her in, and she never left. Mountain Movement and Mindset arose from a need for more fitness options near Massanutten. At Mountain Movement and Mindset, we believe in a well-rounded approach to health that includes getting out in nature, mind-body practices, eating healthy foods, and moving your body!

Mountain Movement and Mindset is more than a gym or a bougie Pilates studio — it’s a community. Here, movement goes beyond physical fitness; it’s about building confidence, finding balance, and connecting with others who share the same passion for wellness. We believe in creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment where every person, no matter their experience or ability, feels empowered to move, grow, and thrive — both in body and mind.

We look forward to working with you!

"The mountains are calling and I must go."

-John Muir

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

Olivia

My name is Olivia Fulk, and I’m a member of the Bridgewater College equestrian team. I’ve been riding horses for most of my life, and this year I began taking Pilates with Libbi at the RMH Wellness Center. I still enjoy those classes, along with her Sunday sessions, and they’ve become an important part of my fitness routine.

Pilates has been a great addition to my riding, lifting, and walking exercises by improving my core strength, balance, and flexibility. It’s helped release my tight hip flexors, strengthened my back, and improved my posture and body alignment—making me more balanced, comfortable, and connected in the saddle. I’ve noticed better stability, coordination, and control when riding, along with greater mobility and endurance overall.

Libbi’s classes have truly enhanced my performance both in and out of the arena. Pilates has made me a stronger, more mindful, and more confident rider, and I’m so grateful for the positive difference it’s made in my training and overall well-being.

Madison

I was a little hesitant to join a workout class post-grad and honestly wasn’t sure if I’d go more than once, but Libbi’s teaching style has completely inspired me to keep coming back! She offers great modifications and makes sure everyone feels supported and comfortable throughout their fitness journey.

Megan

I was completely new to Pilates when I started Libbi’s classes seven months ago, and I’ve never felt stronger or more confident in my body. Every class is different, and she brings in a new prop each time, which keeps things fun and challenging.

Libbi’s classes are warm, welcoming, and safe, and you can tell how passionate she is about what she does. She genuinely cares about everyone in her class, notices everything, and gives gentle, helpful feedback that makes a real difference. She’s also great about answering questions during class or afterward and always replies quickly. My husband attends some classes too, and he loves them just as much!

If you’re thinking about trying Pilates, I can’t recommend Libbi enough. Her classes are the perfect mix of challenge, encouragement, and community!

Joanne

I’m a 77-year-old woman who has two hip replacements, osteoarthritis in my spine, and 3 compressed vertebrae in my neck and one in my back. I do Pilates with Libbi between 3-4 times a week. I can tell you that this exercise makes a world of difference in my ability to continue to do everyday activities. If I have to miss a day or two, I see that I’m less  flexible. I highly recommend this class. There are 2 levels of Pilates so if you are hesitant to start, I would recommend starting with level one.
